Grace Daycare & Learning Center Opening with the Help of Greenwich United Way to Offer Affordable Early Childhood Education Programming
All-inclusive preschool and childcare program accepts Care4Kids assistance and Greenwich United Way scholarships.
GREENWICH, Conn., December 22, 2020 – Grace Daycare & Learning Center (GDLC), offering all-inclusive preschool programming and child care, will open in Western Greenwich on January 4. Located in the facilities of the former YMCA Preschool at St. Roch Church (2 St. Roch Avenue) in the Chickahominy section of Greenwich, GDLC provides affordable early childhood programming for area families and accepts Care4Kids assistance and Greenwich United Way scholarships.
Upon closure of the YMCA Preschool last spring, approximately 100 children were left without a childcare or preschool program. Since then, the Greenwich United Way (GUW) has been working to place them in alternative programs while simultaneously seeking new suitable providers to fill the gap.
“After researching numerous programs, we knew Grace Daycare & Learning Center was the perfect fit to join the Greenwich community and open a new location in the St. Roch facility,” said David Rabin, CEO of Greenwich United Way. “GDLC will be one of very few early childhood education centers in the area that offers flexibility to accommodate working parents, vibrant and diversified curriculum, experienced faculty, and accessible tuition.”
“Now more than ever, parents are in need of all-inclusive early childcare services that they can trust,” said Fritz G. Chery, co-founder of GDLC. “We recognize that families have enough going on in their lives and work to provide well-rounded, all-inclusive learning experiences designed to help children grow both in and out of the classroom. In partnering with the Greenwich United Way, we strive to bring our love for children and passion for learning to Greenwich.”
GDLC offers innovative and creative curriculum with year-round programs designed exclusively for each age group it serves: infant care (3-11 months), daycare (ages 1-2) and preschool (ages 3-5). The GDLC facility at St. Roch includes a gym, music room, library, science room, dance room, outdoor playground, and a livestream for parents. Cameras in every classroom provide parents with instant access to check in on their children using a smartphone or tablet throughout the day. A registered nurse is on staff and all staff members are trained in CPR, First Aid, and the administration of Epi-Pen and medication.
