Our Needs Assessment is the definitive statistical portrait of Greenwich’s human services needs. The information in the Needs Assessment represents the input of countless individuals and organizations that have generously agreed to share documentation, statistics, opinions and perspectives to make this report as useful as possible.
Community Investment Process
A team of volunteers conducts the Community Investment Process to recommend grant funding for partner agencies and programs. The process involves months of reviewing proposals from local agencies, a deep dive into each organization’s financials, and visits to all applicants’ facilities to see their programs in action. The volunteers determine effective uses for Greenwich United Way funds. They are guided by documentation of local needs as defined by the previous Needs Assessment.
Direct Impact Programs
Greenwich United Way is dedicated to improving the lives of all Greenwich residents. As part of our mission, we develop new programs to directly benefit the community with specific effective, impactful solutions. These programs come from specific needs identified in the Needs Assessment
Community Planning Council
The Greenwich United Way’s Community Planning Council (CPC) is a collaborative group that focuses on addressing community needs and improving the quality of life in Greenwich. The council meets monthly and is comprised of local stakeholders, including residents, non-profit organizations, and government representatives, who come together to identify key issues affecting the community.
Their goals often include conducting needs assessments, facilitating community discussions, and developing strategies to allocate resources effectively. By working together, the council aims to create a more resilient and supportive environment for all residents, addressing areas such as education, health, and financial stability.
