Greenwich United Way
The Office of Higher Education is the state agency that administers state student financial aid programs, licenses and accredits independent colleges and universities, and oversees private occupational schools. With federal funds, the agency serves as the State Approving Agency for programs enrolling veterans, and administers Americorps and the Teacher Quality Partnership Grant Program.
Greenwich Adult & Continuing Education, a non-profit organization, provides a program for high school students through adults of all ages, who work or live in the greater Fairfield/Westchester area. Some 3,000 students participate every year. Catalogs are distributed to libraries and other public places in August and again in late December.
Begun in 1914, this is the largest provider of intercity transportation in the country. Their nearest terminal is located at the Stamford Metro North railroad station. Charters are also available.
