This Division enforces the Connecticut State Building Code and issues building permits for

• Construction and alterations of all buildings
• Swimming pools
• Tennis courts
• Signs
• Special events
• Demolition of buildings 

Inspections are made by building, electrical, plumbing and HVAC inspectors at critical stages of construction to ensure compliance with all applicable codes. The Building Official enforces all state and local codes and ordinances governing the construction of buildings and other structures, including all mechanical and electrical systems.
