GREENWICH POLICE DEPARTMENT – SILVER SHIELD ASSOCIATION

During the summer of 1958,  a fellow police officer had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was confined to GREENWICH HOSPITAL. His family faced seemingly expensive medical expenses. The GREENWICH POLICE organized benefit dinners and even made personal donations to the family but it was simply not enough. The idea was born to form a, “club”, its purpose to provide financial assistance to Officers in need. That club became The Greenwich Police Silver Shield Association. The club pursues projects that promote family safety; create partnerships that foster better Police/Community relations and to enhance the professional abilities of our members, the men and women of THE GREENWICH POLICE DEPARTMENT.
