NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY

The FCC and the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection, offer the DO NOT CALL program which allows the public to have their home telephone numbers and cell phone numbers removed from telemarketing lists. Any business doing phone solicitations in the state cannot legally call a person on that list 31 days after the number is registered.  Registration, formerly effective for 5 years, is now permanent due to the Do Not Call Improvement Act of 2007 which became law in FEB of 2008. WARNING – Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls.
