A private, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1974. As a designated Area Agency on Aging, SWCAA is a funding source for federal and state dollars for the elderly in the fourteen town region of southwestern Connecticut.  Their mission is to provide leadership and resources to meet the needs of the rapidly growing elderly population and to maintain and improve the quality of life and independence of older persons.
