Greenwich United Way
FAMILY CENTERS‘ offers support and therapy groups for children, adults and families in their Stamford, Greenwich and Darien locations. Pre-registration is required for all groups, and a sliding fee scale is available. Most insurance plans are also accepted. Private counseling sessions can also be arranged.
This FAMILY CENTERS program is an innovative service for aging adults and offers a variety of in-person and telephone-based services designed for the aging population. Their services allow for home-bound and aging adults to continue to socialize, stimulate educational interests and stay connected with the community.
Human services recognizes that a number of Greenwich residents and their families struggle with issues related to severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse or addiction. Town agency promoting health in the community, through sanitation and control of communicable infections. The agency provides inspections and enforcement of town environmental regulations and oversees community health programs. The department has 3 divisions; DIVISION FAMILY HEALTH, DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, and DIVISION OF SPECIAL CLINICAL SERVICES.
The Commission on Aging has been an official department of TOWN government since 1975. It is the TOWN agency responsible for the needs of Greenwich’s older residents. Volunteer members serve three-year terms. Commission members are nominated by the BOARD OF SELECTMEN.

Since opening its doors in 2002, ABRI/Homes for the Brave has provided housing, vocational training and job placement, mental health and addiction services, and life skills coaching to help individuals, especially Veterans, leave homelessness behind.
